Gas safety concerns millions of households, and the correct use of gas stainless steel corrugated pipes is crucial as an important accessory for connecting gas pipelines and gas appliances. Today, let's talk about a few frequently asked questions: Can gas stainless steel corrugated pipes exceed 2 meters? Can it be buried in secret? Can we use a three-way connector?
Can gas stainless steel corrugated pipes exceed 2 meters?
(一)Standard regulations
According to the regulations of "Stainless Steel Bellows for Gas Use" (CJ/T 197), the standard lengths of household gas stainless steel bellows are generally 0.5 meters, 1 meter, 1.5 meters, and 2 meters. Normally, the length of gas stainless steel corrugated pipes should not exceed 2 meters.
(二)Why can't it exceed 2 meters?
♦Safety risk: Long corrugated pipes can increase the risk of bending and deformation of the pipeline, which can easily lead to uneven pressure distribution inside the pipeline, causing problems such as leakage or bursting.
♦ Installation specifications: The installation of gas pipelines must strictly comply with relevant specifications, and excessively long corrugated pipes may exceed the allowable range of the specifications, affecting the safety and stability of the entire gas system.
If the actual usage scenario requires a length exceeding 2 meters, it must be evaluated by professional gas installation personnel and corresponding reinforcement measures must be taken.
Can gas stainless steel corrugated pipes be buried underground?
Explicitly prohibited
The "Code for Design of Urban Gas" (GB50028) clearly stipulates that gas hoses should be installed openly and should not pass through walls, ceilings, floors, windows, and doors. This means that gas stainless steel corrugated pipes are prohibited from being buried underground.
Why can't it be buried in secret?
1、Leakage risk: Once a hidden corrugated pipe leaks, it is difficult to detect it in a timely manner, which may lead to gas accumulation in a closed space, causing explosions or poisoning accidents.
2、Difficulty in maintenance: Once there is a problem with the buried pipeline, maintenance and replacement are very difficult, requiring damage to the wall or ground, which increases maintenance costs and time.
INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Gas stainless steel corrugated pipes should be installed in well ventilated, easy to inspect and maintain locations to ensure their safety and reliability.
